Social/Compliance Chief

 

  1. Listed below are the responsibilities of the social/compliance chief. This chief is accountable for all the listed activities and will report to the Assistant Residency Directors (Drs. Rachel Dahms and Stephanie Taft.) The responsibility to accomplish the activities can be delegated to other residents throughout the year. In addition, it is expected that you will support the other chiefs in accomplishing their duties. 
  2. Work with Asst PDs on development of residency social agenda, i.e., new-resident teambuilding, orientation, resident holiday open house, holiday dinner, Wild games, match party, graduation dinner. 
  3. Review all residency policies and procedures, promotion criteria, check for accuracy and recommend changes. 
  4. Be member of promotions committee.
  5. Recruitment: coordinate chief resident participation in interview process (one chief resident should meet with every applicant) 
  6. Oversight of recruitment and wellness budgets. 
  7. Liaison with other departments: Meet with chief residents from other departments concerning issues of mutual interest - scheduling, conferences, etc. 
  8. Monitor EM and off-service resident compliance with departmental policies and procedures, promotions criteria and chart completion. 
  9. Monitor duty hour compliance. 
  10. Coordinate resident swap between HCMC and Regions, including acting as liaison between residencies, coordination of schedules and orientation of HCMC resident, including airway training via simulation. 
  11. Ensure compliance with weekly resident schedules, special events, workshops, conferences and workshop teaching. 
  12. Assist with residency web site, newsletter and annual report. 
  13. Meetings: attend meetings that affect the residency (e.g., residency, senior staff, GMEC.) 
  14. Other duties as assigned.
